Learning Solutions Consultant (Contract Position)

Position Summary:
Bull City Blue is looking for a consultant with experience helping organizations diagnose and analyze their human performance problems and define learning strategies and technologies to remedy those problems. The consultant will conduct needs analyses, create competency models, design learning pathways, assess learning team effectiveness, and assist clients in establishing learning-technology strategies. This will require the consultant to develop project plans, design primary research tools, conduct primary and secondary research, analyze qualitative and quantitative data, apply common consulting frameworks, and summarize findings and develop recommendations.
Representative Projects:

• Developing a competency model and associated performance levels for a new role

• Evaluating the training needs of a sales team

• Revising an initial training curriculum to address known areas of need

• Assisting companies in identifying and evaluating new learning-technology options

• Evaluating the effectiveness of the learning organization across multiple categories

Knowledge / Skills Required:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong client management skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrable tact and diplomacy

• Organized and detail oriented

• Ability to work independently

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Comfort navigating “imperfect” projects (e.g., projects with limited information or vaguely defined problems)

• Familiarity with adult learning principles

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a consulting team member at an established firm (boutique, midsized or large)

• Minimum of 3 years learning-related experience in consulting or industry

• Bachelor's degree required; master’s degree or higher preferred

• Willingness to travel to client sites for key meetings, events, and primary research

• Experience in managing project teams and engagements

• Experience in identifying new business opportunities (e.g., follow-on projects)

• Experience in establishing or contributing to thought leadership, including writing articles or whitepapers
